Live events are a vital component of the marketing mix and are an increasingly important method for positively engaging a brand with their audience and creating compelling visual content for them to share with the social media networks.
For an event to generate excitement, it has to reach the audience on a personal level. Getting this audience engagement right and giving them a new and exclusive experience, is the key to making them want to share this experience with others via their social media networks.
Live events provide the perfect platform to create engaging content both during and after the event. Due to the increase in social sharing, an event’s reach is no longer limited to the size of your audience, but how many people the audience shared their experience with.
Whatever social platform an audience prefers to use, they will need compelling visual content to tell a story of their experience.
What makes great content for social sharing?
One way to generate excitement amongst an audience is to provide a relevant entertainment experience they are unlikely to have seen before. Stunning, visual entertainment at events is guaranteed to create unique photo opportunities and video content for an audience. People love to share visual evidence of new experiences, which can transform a small physical event audience, into a huge virtual audience.
Aquabatix most recently did this for St Tropez at their Escape to Paradise product launch held round the tropical swimming pool at the exclusive Haymarket Hotel, London.
Performing an upbeat and classy routine to the iconic track Feeling Good by Nina Simone, Aquabatix engaged the crowd with their unique and impressive form of entertainment. Almost all members of the audience were captivated enough to want to share this entertainment experience and used their phone to video and take photographs of the performance.
You can see in this short clip just how many people wanted to record the performance as they experienced it live.
St Tropez also did a facebook live event during the synchronised swimming performance to maximise their reach on social media and give the wider audience a taste of what was happening at the live event.
‘It was amazing! Thanks so much for being part of our very own little paradise! @sttropeztan
Many influencers took to their social media channels during and after the event to say how great the performance was: ‘You guys were amazing! @cici_coleman
If successful, a live event can turn attendees into brand ambassadors, who shout about the brands message, sharing vital images and content on social media with their network.
