Aquabatix held a special synchronised swimming session at the beautifully quaint Soho Farmhouse, which is part of the Soho House group, to encourage their members to release their inner mermaid.
Set in a stunning heated pool that is built within a man made boating lake, the participants jumped in with enthusiasm wearing their trusty nose clips.
Aquabatix performer and former GB competitor, Hannah, demonstrated a solo performance before Aquabatix Director Adele, who is a Commonwealth medalist and worked with the British synchro team for two Olympic Games, took the willing swimmers through their paces.
The one hour session consisted of learning to swim in formation and keep to a count, basic synchronised swimming skills such as sculling, back layouts and tub positions. The class finished off with adding the newly learned skills into a small sequence with music to perform at the end.
The Soho House troupe, which consisted of both men and women, picked up the technical basics well and looked fabulous in their little showcase at the end of the session. Not only did the budding synchronised swimmers manage the choreography, but everyone also got a fitness workout, with lots of work on the arms and core throughout the class.
With perfect synchronised swimming smiles, the members commented ” I loved it, what an amazing hour. You were so fab at teaching us”, “it was HUGE fun” and ‘looking forward to more lessons”.
Aquabatix teaches one off synchronised swimming lessons for group activities such as hen parties, company work days and birthday get togethers. For more information on how to release your inner mermaid or inner merman, please contact us info@aquabatix.com
