Unless you have been hiding under a rock recently, then you would have noticed that there is a mermaid trend spreading fast around the world.
With Autumn’s hottest new film release Pan, which features supermodel Cara Delevigne as one of the naughty sirens, to pop sensation Rita Ora being photographed underwater, flashing a silvery tail, to publicise the new Sexy Fish restaurant opening in London this month and The Little Mermaid film in pre production, mermaids are literally taking over the world!
You can now learn to swim like Ariel, with mermaid schools popping up in places such as the Philippines, Spain and we even have one in the UK. Celebrity mother, Myleene Klass, has posted pictures of her daughters wearing shimmering tails on the poolside, which are now available to purchase online.
Conferences, such as Merfest, are actual things, plus mermaids are educating children on ocean conservation.
Here at Aquabatix, we have also noticed an increase in demand for our performing mermaids at corporate events and children’s parties, both in the pool and at aquariums. Prestigous car manufacturer, Rolls Royce, had a couple of Aquabatix mermaids perform at the launch of their black badge brand in Shanghai and there was even a rumour that a couple of our mystical mermaids were spotted at the royal wedding in Monaco in 2015.
The mermaid economy is growing rapidly. Who says that mermaids don’t exist?
