When the talented photographer Blaise Cepis found the Aquabatix synchronized swimmers for LA photo shoot for his feature ‘wet, hot and upside down’ in a new high end annual print and online magazine that was being launched, he got to work straight away with his ideas featuring models and synchronized swimmers.
Grace Bastyr, who came up with the concept for Venomous, contacted Aquabatix and as soon as we heard Blaise was involved, we jump to collaborate on a photo shoot involving models and synchronized swimmers in and around a pool in the canyons of the Hollywood Hills.
The original concept of Venomous, is a celebration of the artist and creatives who aren’t afraid to express their style and unique perspective, and the theme of the first edition specifically is the juxtaposition between wild and fashion.
Blaise, who has shot for Calvin Klein, Adidas and The Standard hotel, worked closely with the synchronized swimmers and models to achieve the brief, with the stunning backdrop of Laurel Canyon helping to create visually impactful and colourful images.
In the feature titled Wet, hot and upside down, Aquabatix USA are seen creating intriguing shapes in the water, often connected, whilst models pose around the pool. Grace mentioned; “It was a real pleasure working with you and I am so lucky to have had you be a part of this foundation.”
