May 2010
Brighton Marina
On Sunday 23 May Aquabatix took took on a new challenge and performed in the Marina in Brighton (yes in the sea!) as part of the entertainment programme for the Big Splash 2010. The event was the final day of the Brighton Festival and was a jam-packed day of FREE entertainment, fun and amazement all themed around the 1950's, rock and roll and the general quirkiness that is Britain.
The Aquabatix team wore wetsuits due to the extremely cold temperature of the water and retro style pink flowery caps to fit in with the 1950 theme of the event. Performing not just once but four times over the course of the afternoon event, Aquabatix attracted huge crowds for every performance with many people saying it was the best entertainment they had ever seen.
The team even braved the chilly waters once more as part of the Grand Finale at 21:40 in the main Marina. Lit by only a spotlight, the athletes gave their best performance of the day to set off the incredible fireworks display to mark the end of the Brighton festival for 2010.
